Pictures kindly submitted by Harrie
Wiertz jr.
 All
pictures in the next two sections
underneath are taken by technician class 1 Harrie Wiertz sr, crew member of the Dutch national team at the world champs 1963 in Argentina. Harrie was authorised to sign off
airworthiness certificates and annual inspections. He was deeply
disappointed in the Sagitta not getting the OSTIV award in 1963. Working
close to Dutch technician number one Piet Vleesch du Bois he was also closely
involved in anything to do with the Sagitta in the early years. All pictures
are kindly submitted by his son Harrie Wiertz jr, here seen in 1968 in a
Ka-6 and in 2004 in his own glider. Can
someone get this man out of the Ka-8 and into a Sagitta?

Also these pictures are taken by

submitting!
Ed van Bree finished 31st. Arie Breunisse broke off a wingtip of a Skylark
and bailed out above the airfield. Harrie Wiertz was angry. The Sagitta was
shipped, by boat, in a trailer from Terlet, and arrived too late. "We"
didn't win the OSTIV award, Finland's Pik-16 Vasama did, guaranteeing a good
future for Eiri Avion gliders.
